LARGE SCALE RESIDENTIAL
Condos Saint-Paul
The challenge is to create a residential building with 44 units on 6 storeys with ground floor commercial and two levels of underground parking, covering an entire city block, in a Unesco world heritage site. Built in Quehec city’s lower town, the party is to distribute the dwellings around a courtyard, giving private outdoor space to all units while maintaining solid masonry street facades, that blend into the lower town’s existing 17th and 18th century fabric. The corner is expressed with a rounded hinge, transitioning the commercial elevations on Saint-Paul street to the more residential facades on Saint-Vallier.
